Drama as part of the Blast Arts Programme

Since Christmas the boys and girls from 2nd, 3rd and 4th class have been working with the wonderful Alice Lynch, drama teacher, as part of the Blast Arts Programme. The children learned so much and enjoyed all aspects thoroughly especially their live performances, growing in their ability to express their ideas and in their own self confidence.

The children experienced drama through playful engagement with games, working together in small groups, completing improvisations and also studying the script written by Alice herself, When the Scottish Giant Attacked Corlurgan, which she wrote especially for the class based on what had been explored in the drama lessons. Every boy and girl had a special part in the play and they all had plenty of lines to learn and they always had to be ready to either enter and leave the stage at different points of the play. The children practiced so hard and worked together so well during the production and their performances of the play went down very well with the staff and students of the other classes in the school.

Well done everyone and a huge thank you to Alice for all her hard work and help during her sessions with us.
