Corlurgan N.S. is a co-educational primary school funded by the Department of Education and Science under the trusteeship of the Catholic Bishop of Kilmore. The school has an eight- member Board of Management, representing the trustee, the parents, the teaching staff and the wider community. The school is situated on the outskirts of Cavan town and is part of the parish of Urney and Annagelliffe. Currently the school has six teachers including two SET teachers, two fulltime and one part-time SNA, a part-time school secretary and ancillary staff.
Corlurgan N.S. is a progressive modern primary school incorporating traditional values and a Catholic ethos which is a fundamental core of all our policies.
We are committed to the holistic development of our children in order to assist them to contribute to and play a fulfilling role in their community. We recognise that children have different areas of strength and we strive to foster their strengths through a supportive, caring, inclusive and positive learning environment.
We aim to promote a strong sense of community within the school and a high level of respect and co-operation among and between staff, pupils, parents and school management.
